2023

International Conference on the Physics of the Two Infinities
Dates27-30 March 2023
VenueMaskawa Building for Education and Research. North Campus, Kyoto University
Details This conference aims to bring together physicists to explore the interconnections between the physics of the two infinities. In search of new discoveries, these fields explore what the Universe is made of, or was made of, and what its basic laws are on the smallest and largest scales. The history of our universe has been dominated by the intimate relationship between these domains since its earliest moments just under 15 billion years ago.Over the next decade, foreseen experiences from these different fields have the potential to revolutionize our understanding of the formation and evolution of the Universe.

2019
Dark Matter searches in the 2020s - At the crossroads of the WIMP
Dates11-13 November 2019
VenueThe University of Tokyo, Kashiwa Campus
Details Testing the hypothesis of particle dark matter is one of the key questions in Physics today. While no conclusive experimental evidence has been found so far, a new generation of experiments promise a big leap forward in the next decade. Future indirect, direct and collider experiments will be conjointly in reach to probe the largest part of the parameter space of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs), the long-standing canonical dark matter candidates. By this, a confirmation or manifest rejection of the WIMP hypothesis is in reach during the next 10 years.

The goal of this symposium is to stimulate exchange between these various next-generation WIMP searches. Therefore, it brings together Japanese and international researchers from all relevant experimental and theoretical fields. The latter include up-to-date particle and interaction models, astrophysical constraints, and the status of next-generation instruments. Additionally, we aim at a special focus on the neutrino floor background for future direct searches, and searches for DM signatures in charged astroparticles. By this, the symposium helps to foster collaborations and to explore the complementarity of the different search strategies.

The 4th International Workshop on "Higgs as a Probe of New Physics" (HPNP2019)
Dates18-22 February 2019
VenueOsaka University, Toyonaka Campus
Details By the discovery of a Higgs boson in 2012, the standard model was confirmed to give a good description for most of the phenomena below the electroweak scale. In spite of the success of the standard model, the nature of the Higgs sector and the dynamics behind the electroweak symmetry breaking are still mystery. On the other hand, there are phenomena which cannot be explained in the standard model, such as neutrino oscillation, existence of dark matter, baryon asymmetry of the Universe and cosmic inflation. It is clear that the new physics beyond the standard model is necessary.

The LHC has been revealing physics at the terascale and will be upgraded to the High-Luminosity LHC. Meanwhile, SuperKEKB will explore well beyond the terascale via heavy flavor decays. The Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA), aimed at detecting gravitational waves from the early Universe, has been approved. The synergy of these upcoming experiments as well as future lepton colliders such as ILC, FCCee, CEPC and CLIC, and also various cosmological observations will bring us insights into the nature of new physics. Therefore, it is a good time to discuss the physics role of the Higgs sector and its relation to the physics beyond the standard model.

The aim of HPNP2019 is to bring together Higgs related physicists from around the world to discuss the relation between Higgs physics and models beyond the Standard Model.
