School Schedule

Studens should check in on Sunday July 9th afternoon.
The opening session is scheduled to take place on Monday July 10th at 8:30;
the school will end on Friday July 21th at 16pm.
Session hours are 8:30 - 12:00 and 13:20 - 16:40
All school sessions will be held in the ICISE conference Center

Conference facilities

The following equipment will be available:

video projector for computer presentations,
overhead projector,
internet access will be available at the school site and at the hotel.
A wireless hub is installed and covers the whole conference building.

Accommodation and registration

Students are expected to stay and have meals in the ICISE lodges which is fully supported by the organizer. For lecturers, ccommodation in the four star Seagull Hotel in Quy Nhon is guaranteed if your registration is made before June 1st. After this date, if the Seagull hotel is full, you will be accommodated in a neighbouring hotel.

All sessions will be held in the ICISE conference center, 10 minutes taxi (or one hour walk) away from the hotel. (you can visualise it on this map). Daily bus transfer (morning and end afternoon) will be provided by the conference organization.

Students will be expected to arrive on Sunday July 9th, and will leave on Friday July 21st in the evening or later.

For lecturers, breakfast and dinner will be served in the hotel while lunch will be served at ICISE.

Travel

There are two main international airports in Vietnam : Hanoi (Noi Bai airport : HAN) and Ho Chi Minh(Tan Son Nhut airport : SGN).
As there more flights from Ho Chi Minh to Quy nhon, it is more convenient to fly from foreign countries to Ho Chi Minh than to Hanoi.

For those arriving via Hanoi, since the only dayly flight to Quy Nhon is very early in the morning, it may be wise to take a flight to Ho Chi Minh City and catch up there the afternoon flight to Quy Nhon.

Immigration / VISA

We list here some rules as they applied in summer 2015: we will strive to update these informations regularly, but you should make sure they indeed apply to august 2016 before traveling.

All participants do require a visa to visit Vietnam, except for few exemptions listed below.

Vietnam Visa exemption is granted to holders of a passport from:

Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos for visits of 30 days at the maximum.
Philippines for visits of 21 days at the maximum.
Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Russia and Finland for visits of 15 days at the maximum.
At the end of June 2015, 5 more countries have been added to this list: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom. On July 1st, 2016, this exemption has been extended until end of June 2017.

To obtain a visa

please apply for a tourist visa and get it at your nearest vietnamese consulate
you may apply for a tourist visa through the Internet

Please inform the Rencontres du Vietnam secretariat of your internet visa number and your arrival date and time at the entrance airport.

This internet visa procedure is cheaper but it does take some time (~ 60 min) at the airport immigration office, depending on the queue. Do not forget to have with you 2 passport photos and USD in cash as required by the internet visa service.
